Terms of use
Last updated: 22 September 2026
Welcome to Scoops & Dishes. By using scoopsanddishes.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The site
Scoops & Dishes provides recipe information and related content for personal, non-commercial home cooking. Content is provided in good faith for general information. We may update, rearrange, or remove pages at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- misuse the site (including attempting to disrupt servers, scrape in a way that harms service, or inject malicious code);
- use contact forms to send spam, abuse, or unlawful content;
- republish our full recipe collection or site code as your own commercial product without permission;
- use the site in any way that breaks applicable Australian law.
Home cooks may print a recipe for personal use. Teachers and community groups may share a link to a page. Bulk copying of the database or systematic republication needs prior written consent.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise noted, site text, layout, compilation of recipes as presented here, logos, and original illustrations are owned by Scoops & Dishes or used under licence. Classic dish names and general cooking techniques are not claimed as exclusive property — many recipes are traditional — but our wording, structure, notes, and artwork are not public-domain free-for-all.
You may not hotlink images in a way that burdens our bandwidth, pass our pages off as your app’s content, or remove copyright notices from printed copies you distribute widely.
Cooking, allergies, and food safety
Recipes are written for general home use. They are not medical, nutritional, or allergen-certified advice. Ingredients and cross-contamination risks vary. Always read labels, and if you or your guests have allergies or dietary medical needs, verify every ingredient and preparation step yourself or consult a qualified professional.
Food safety matters: cook meats, seafood, and egg dishes to safe temperatures; refrigerate leftovers promptly; reheat until steaming hot where appropriate. Oven performance, ingredient brands, and altitude differ — use your judgement and visual/texture cues alongside our timings.
No guarantees
We aim for clear, useful recipes, but we do not guarantee specific results, uninterrupted site availability, or error-free content. Taste is personal; equipment varies. If a step looks wrong, stop and check before you waste expensive ingredients — and tell us so we can fix the page.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law), Scoops & Dishes and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site or from cooking based on our content — including food waste, equipment damage, or allergic reactions — except where liability cannot be excluded. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the online content or the cost of resupplying it, where that limitation is allowed.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
Advertising
Third-party ads (including Google AdSense) may appear. Those ads are the responsibility of the advertisers and networks. We do not endorse every advertised product. See our Privacy policy for cookies and personalisation.
External services
The contact form may be delivered through a third-party form service. Their terms and privacy policy apply to that transmission.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a revised date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
